Who we are
The Healthy Brain Clinic and Vital Force Network are trading names of The Trustee for The Connell Unit Trust (ABN 53 774 570 836), with AJ CONNELL PTY LTD (ACN 102 714 214) as corporate trustee (“we”, “us”). We operate the platform at vitalforce.net.au and the THBC mobile app. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Because we support your health and wellbeing, some of what you share with us is sensitive information, and we treat it that way.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name, email address and login details when you create a member account or purchase a programme.
- Questionnaires and diary. Your answers to our wellbeing questionnaires and the daily diary entries you choose to record (for example sleep, stress, energy, mood and notes).
- Heart rate and HRV training data. When you run a biofeedback session with a heart rate sensor such as the Polar H10, the app reads your heart rhythm live over Bluetooth. Session summaries (for example coherence, time in the calm band, RMSSD and session length) are saved to your account so your trends and reports work. Practice sessions without a real sensor are not recorded.
- In-clinic data. If you attend the clinic, your qEEG recordings, reports and in-clinic biofeedback measurements are recorded as part of your care.
- Purchases. Order details when you buy a programme. Card payments are processed by our payment providers; we do not store your card number.
- Technical basics. Cookies needed to keep you logged in and information about how the platform features are used, so the service works properly.
The THBC mobile app
The THBC app is a secure window into your member dashboard. Bluetooth is used for one purpose only: connecting your heart rate sensor for live biofeedback. Your live heart rhythm is processed on your device during a session, and only the session summary is synced to your account. The app contains no advertising, no third party tracking, and we never sell your data.
How we use your information
- To provide your programme: your dashboard, protocols, courses, trends, reports and reminders.
- To generate personalised feedback. We use carefully configured AI systems, under clinician oversight, to help prepare your weekly feedback and progress summaries from your own data.
- To support your clinical care where you attend the clinic.
- To send service emails such as your weekly feedback, report notifications and receipts.
- To meet our legal and professional obligations.
Who we share it with
Your information is shared only with: the clinicians and staff involved in your care; the service providers that run our platform (website hosting, payment processing, email delivery and, for webinar registrations, our email marketing platform — see “Webinars and practitioner updates” below), who may only use it to provide those services; and authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share your health information for marketing.
Webinars and practitioner updates
We run free online webinars for practitioners. When you register for one we collect your name, email address and profession, your mobile number if you choose to give it, and the technical basics that keep the form secure (your IP address and the page you came from). We use those details to send you the joining or watch link, reminders before the session, the recording afterwards, and occasional practitioner updates from The Healthy Brain Clinic.
Those contact details are held in our webinar contact list on this platform and are also stored in ActiveCampaign, the email platform we use to send these messages, which is hosted in the United States. Registering therefore means your name, email address, profession and phone number are transferred to and stored in the United States for that purpose. Webinar registrations are education and marketing records. They are kept separately from clinical records, and we do not add your health information to them.
Every webinar email and practitioner update carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing once stops all of them. You can also ask us to delete your registration details at any time. We keep the list while it is still relevant to these mailings, and the IP address recorded with a registration is cleared after 90 days.
Security and storage
Your data is protected in transit with encryption, stored behind access controls, and available only to the people who need it for your care and support. We keep your information while your account is active or as clinical record keeping laws require, then delete or de-identify it.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can view your details in your dashboard and ask us to correct anything at any time.
- Export. The app includes an export of your training data, and you can request a copy of your records from us.
- Sharing control. Sharing your training trends with your practitioner is opt-in and you can stop it at any time in the app.
- Deletion. You can delete your on-device training data in the app, and you can ask us to delete your account data, subject to record keeping laws that apply to clinical care.
- Email. Every marketing style email includes an unsubscribe link. Service emails about your care continue while your programme is active.
Children and young people
Where our services are used to support a child or young person, a parent or guardian provides consent, manages the account, and remains involved in the programme.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will be flagged on your dashboard or by email.

Dr Ash Connell is registered with AHPRA as a chiropractor. Clinical services are delivered under additional certifications in qEEG, neurofeedback and biofeedback. We work alongside, not instead of, your GP, psychologist or psychiatrist. Our platform and app support wellbeing and education. They are not a medical device and do not provide a diagnosis.
